Understand Your Warranties For Split Unit Systems
Unlike other heating and cooling systems, split units have two separate pieces of equipment – both of which carry their own warranty. To find the model number on the exterior unit, look at the product tag on the top corner of the unit. On the interior unit, the information is located inside the front cover near the top.
Unitary Equipment
Durastar HVAC products come with a limited warranty. Here are a few key warranty features specific to unitary equipment.
Fifteen (15) year limited heat exchanger warranty on DR96M4AW, DR95M4W, DR95M4AT, DR80**AW***2 models
Ten (10) year limited heat exchanger warranty on DR80UT1 and DR80DT1
Five (5) year limited parts warranty on select models
The warranty period begins after the effective dates for models listed in residential applications
Unitary Equipment must be installed by a licensed HVAC contractor
Mini-Splits
When it comes to mini-splits, the top warranty terms and conditions to note are:
Ten (10) year warranty on defective and replacement parts
Must be installed in a residential single-family home
The original owner must reside in a single-family home at the time of the warranty claim
Mini-split must be installed by a licensed HVAC contractor
